The Chiropractor, Wicklow Town

Since opening his chiropractic clinic in Wicklow Town almost two years ago, Vincent Pippet has experienced the growing pains of starting a new business.  “Any start-up is challenging,” he said. “It’s time consuming – doing the paperwork, trying to get a website sorted, finding a premises – and none of it is free. That is definitely a challenge.”

Vincent has brought a strong sporting and fitness background to his new profession, having worked extensively in fitness industry and representing Ireland in squash, a sport he also coached.  Vincent also has a long history with the chiropractic profession and was once on the receiving end of the treatment.  “I had my own back problems in the past. I’d been to see chiropractors and decided to go back and study to be one.”

After earning a degree in Sports Science, Vincent has now gone on to further his study to become a fully qualified chiropractor. Vincent has been delighted with the response he has received from members of the public and says working for himself is hugely motivating.  “The job satisfaction is excellent, and being able to do it in my own town is really, really satisfying. You’re helping people from all walks of life. Some people might have a disc problem, some people might have whiplash, and some might want to improve their sports performance. It’s a broad spectrum of people, and a really rewarding job.”

Vincent’s clinic, The Chiropractor, is based in the Wicklow Enterprise Centre on the Murrough in Wicklow Town.
The enterprise centre provides entrepreneurs like Vincent with facilities and expertise to help their business along in the early stages of development.
“The Wicklow County Enterprise Board has been great in giving me help,” Vincent said. “Look after the people who are good enough to support you, because they’re the most important thing. Word of mouth is the strongest referral you’ll ever get.”

As well as a range of chiropractic services, The Chirpractor also offers free drop-in clinics on Tuesday mornings when people can come to have their ailments assessed.
